One year after launching his first shoe collection, Christian Louboutin decided that his sexy stiletto- heeled creations needed more of that "oomph factor", so he painted the bottoms with red nail polish and Voila! The rest is history and now we can spot a Louboutin from a mile away. Knockoffs will continue to try and circulate as that is how the fashion industry works, but in March of 2007 Louboutin applied for a U.S. trademark on his (literal) stroke of genius!
